Domestic Violence against Educated and Employed Women

Domestic Violence against Educated and Employed Women:

In today's 21st century, educated and employed women also face domestic violence? also, face domestic violence? We may be surprised to hear this, but we have heard and read about violence against women in many newspapers and magazines every day. We have also heard and read the news that single women, from young children to teenagers, are more vulnerable. In a patriarchal society and state like ours in Nepal, educated and working women may not be surprised to learn that they are victims of domestic violence. Women working in high positions in Nepal also seem to be victims of domestic violence.

Many educated women have problems ranging from getting married. In spite of the changing times and circumstances, the educated classes are making good use of the dowry system.

I would like to give an example while presenting my opinion through the article; A woman got married at the age of 26. He is currently a senior government official working in the Kathmandu office in the capital of Nepal. Her husband runs a private office. He always complains about the lack of dowry from home. Sometimes your father has given you less dowry and has been giving you mental stress from home. She is so capable that from her salary the whole family can take care of him well. Doubts are found during meetings and discussions with the staff of each office. Families have been mentally tortured even when they come home a little late. Even if it is late to reach home due to traffic jam coming from the office, they have been fighting.

Similarly, in the Terai region, dowry is widely sought under the pretext of marrying high-ranking employees women. Due to dowry, infertility, and abortion, women have to die every day. Thus, the phenomenon of women being subjected to extreme mental torture due to various social norms in society is not new and novel.

We have heard people in high positions who spend a lot of money on weddings even if they have a daughter in the house of those who are working in high positions, and who have to pay a lot to get married even if they are looking for educated boys.

There is a situation where a daughter has to sacrifice her body; if the father of the daughter is unable to pay for a dowry during the marriage.

Similarly, we have been hearing the news that many sisters have lost their lives due to the practice of Chhaupadi against women in the far western region of Nepal.

Here, I want to give another example. The girl, who was born in a Brahmin family in the far west, had to fall prey to the practice of Chaupadi when she was menstruating for the first time at the age of 13. Her father was a teacher at a nearby community school. Grandfather was also the Pradhan Panch of the Panchayat period. But there was a kind of mental anguish over the women in his house.

According to her, when she is menstruating, she has to stay in the cowshed, not touch or see anyone, and go to school. His mother was also a school teacher, but he himself was a victim of many social superstitions. According to society and family, society was connected with superstitions and customs, but his father and mother were teachers by profession, but it was very complicated to improve society. Therefore, her mother has been forced to endure violence against this woman since ancient times and she has also been a victim.

So, times have changed, the world has changed, technology has come a long way, but many sisters, women are still suffering from such mental torture even though they are educated and busy in their working life.

In the context of our country, such violence against women is still not over. In our traditional society, women have to suffer a lot from such domestic violence. Due to superstitious and conservative thinking, women are forced to endure violence in any situation due to the negative attitude of the society towards getting married and leaving home alone.

Unless conservative traditions and thinking can be changed in society. Until then, in our country of more than half the population, it still seems impossible to end violence against women. Until then, it is almost impossible to end violence against women. Therefore, it is important for educated and able, capable women to raise their voices of violence against themselves. Only then can violence against women be ended. It is also important for women to respect each other as women. Let's change our thinking and respect for each other. Let's take the right steps to end domestic violence from educated women.

To end such violence against women, start with yourself and your home, family, neighbors, toll, society. We need to engage every woman in a variety of public awareness programs. Women's Reservation, Women's Equality We have been celebrating International Women's Day to end gender discrimination. From time to time we talk loudly about the political changes taking place in the country and talk about ending violence against women, but it seems to be limited to the benefit of a certain class. There has been no change in performance and behavior. For this, various women sisters from all walks of life have come to an end.
