The "National Identity Card" is a digital solution for a person's identity verification.   • 16 years old
  • Obtained a certificate of Nepali citizenship.

8. Where is the national ID issued?

From the National Identity Card and Registration Department at Singha Durbar, the identity card is prepared and distributed in each district from the District Administration Offices or from the designated place by the National Identity Card and Registration Department.

9. What is a biological and personal identity?

In the context of national identity cards, biological identity means a person's photo and a fingerprint. Personal identity includes a person's name, surname, address, age, gender, and other personal details.

10. What is Chips and Why is this used?

Chips are a method of preserving data stored on the back of a national ID card. Chips can be stored in sufficient quantities to contain details and statistics of various types. Apart from the details related to the national ID card, other details like PAN, Driving License, poor identity card can be reserved.

11. How is the confidentiality of personal details contained in the national ID card ensured?

12. How can a copy be obtained if the national identity card is lost?
