The Teachers Service Commission is preparing to conduct the examination of the commission for new appointments in permanent posts. The examination of the commission which should be opened in six months has not been opened for three years. For the same reason, seven lakh 17 thousand one hundred and five new manpower with teaching licenses have been barred from entering school teaching from primary level to secondary level.
As soon as the officials of the commission are appointed, the main responsibility of the chairperson of the commission Madhu Prasad Regmi is to open advertisements for new teachers in permanent posts. Chairman Regmi says that the overall school education is being negatively affected as the commission has been without officials for a year and many old works are still pending.
Many of the teaching licensees are out of school. On the other hand, according to the data provided by the Education and Human Resource Development Center, 12,061 new permanent teachers have not been appointed in the vacant posts from primary to secondary level.
"As soon as I take over as chairman, I aim to do three main things. Chairman Regmi said, "The first is to correct the errors in the teaching license, the second is to conduct examinations for the appointment of teachers in new permanent posts and the third is to forward the file of teacher promotion."
In addition, the meeting of the commission has decided to work according to the annual schedule of the commission.
The commission had come to a complete standstill for one year after the service period of all the office bearers of the commission ended on Ashoj 14, 2077 BS. The commission has been completed after the government appointed a chairman and two members on Shrawan 20.
Information Officer of the Commission Sudarshan Marhattha said that the Commission is preparing to create a new curriculum for permanent open competition for teachers as per the new curriculum. According to the data provided by the Center for Education and Human Resource Development, there are 9,100 permanent teachers at the primary level, 1,913 at the lower secondary level, and 1,047 at the secondary level. Due to this, the shortage of subject teachers in community schools has had a negative impact on teaching and learning, he said.
From the lower secondary level to the secondary level, especially in Nepali, English, Mathematics, and Science, new teachers have not been appointed for a long time. Now, the commission is preparing to fill the vacancies by conducting thematic and state-wise science. New curricula for some lower secondary and secondary level subjects are yet to be developed. Those courses are in the process of being commissioned. There are many errors in the name license in the teaching license. The commission has taken steps to rectify that.
Many of the new teachers who get teaching licenses are out of school, not just by issuing licenses. The government should also pay attention to the management of such a large number of manpower. One hundred and eight thousand school-level posts are also old. As the number of students and schools has increased, it is very important to match the teaching posts.
