Overview

Established in 2002, the Kathmandu Training Center (KTC) is an esteemed institution in Nepal, proudly affiliated with the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT), a government entity. Our primary mission is to empower the unemployed rural youth of Nepal, fostering community development and growth.

Our Objectives and Courses

With the motto of 'Community Development through Social Mobilization', we aim to produce skilled, proactive individuals who can catalyze positive change in their communities. Echoing the sentiments of the Federal Government of Nepal, we believe in the transformative power of social mobilization.

Our most notable course, the 18-month "Social Mobilization" program, has been an integral part of our offerings since our inception. The curriculum, carefully crafted in collaboration with subject matter specialists and curriculum experts, is delivered under the supervision of CTEVT and TITI. It consists of 12 months of theoretical and daily practical work, followed by 6 months of on-the-job training.

Despite the costs associated with this comprehensive training, our target audience includes the disadvantaged, marginalized, and orphaned youth, primarily from remote regions like the Karnali Province and Sudur Pashchim Province. We strive to make quality education accessible to all.

Our Impact

Over the past two decades, we've successfully graduated approximately 650 competent social mobilizers. Our alumni are actively contributing to various sectors across Nepal, including GOs, NGOs, INGOs, Micro Finance Development Banks, private sectors, development sectors, and political sectors. Through their work, they are actualizing our vision of empowering communities and transforming society.

By continuing to develop the capacities of current development workers, KTC stands as a beacon of hope and change in Nepal. Through the social mobilization course, we aim to produce a generation of individuals equipped to make a significant impact at the grassroots level.
