Overview

Tikapur Multiple Campus (TMC) was established in 2001 AD (2058 BS) as a community owned campus located in Tikapur, Kalali district of Nepal. It is one of the QAA certified leading campuses of Nepal has been selected in a second position in Higher Education Reform Project (HERP) from the national competition in 2016. Since its inception, it has been running higher level academic programs.

Nearly three thousand and five hundred students have chosen it as the institute for their higher studies. Thirty eight teaching staff and twenty two non-teaching staff have been working in this campus. The supreme body of the campus is General Assembly which is responsible for formulating its own laws and by-laws. The assembly composed of with all the stakeholders of the campus such as philanthropist, educationists, guardians, general and life members. It has provision of governing body with the twenty one member management committee, fifteen members Advisory Board and twenty five members High Level Co-ordination Committee for quality management.

The students from 18 VDCs including Tikapur Municipality of Kailali and eleven VDCs of BhauraTappu area of Bardiya district and the students migrated from different hilly districts of mid and far western development regions choose TMC to pursue higher education. Tharu is the dominant ethnicity in Kailali (43%) and Bardiya (55%), who has poor accessibility due to far-sited educational institution other than TMC.

Tikapur Multiple Campus endowed with 380 Bighas of land. It has very limited resources, not sufficient to allocate sufficient funding in infrastructural development. Student's fee, contract amount, bank interest, grants from UGC, Tikapur Chamber of Commerce & Industry (TCCI), Tikapur Municipality DDC, and Community Forest are major sources of revenue of the campus. Since these resources are limited and are not sustainable, we are economically poor due to increasing expenses.

TMC has been offering different programs in different shifts. At present, TMC is offering Bachelor Level in Management, Humanities, Education, and Science and one year B.Ed., Master Degree in education specializing in four subjects viz. Health, Nepali, English and Curriculum & Evaluation, Master Degree in Management (MBS) and Master's degree in Rural Development. The Campus has proposed for Bachelors program in Agriculture. A proposal for Letter of Intent (LoI) has recently been submitted to the Ministry of Education. TMC has its own entrance system, admission procedure, and internal assessment and extra- curricular activities for the holistic development of the students.
