Overview

Mahendra Narayan Nidhi Memorial Hospital (MNNMH) was launched in 2011 by Mahendra Narayan Nidhi Memorial Foundation (MNNMF) with the broad objective of providing basic and advanced health services to the general people all over the country. It has been established with the major objective that none of the Nepali citizens shall lack health services due to poor economic status.

The Foundation was established in honor of the late Mahendra Narayan Nidhi, an inspirational and non-violent personality who was an esteemed leader with unforgettable contributions to the history of Nepal’s democratic movement. This hospital was established with the aim of providing perpetual services and sustaining the contributions of Mr. Nidhi through the effort of this Institute. The community hospital is managed by a Cooperative. This Hospital is in a Community cooperative model.

Late Nidhi was a strong follower of non-violence and Gandhism. He truly believed in peaceful movements for democracy and people’s empowerment. He was elected Vice-Spokesperson in the first-ever elected parliament in 1959 (2015 B.S.). He became Minister of Local Development and Water Resources during the first premiership of Shree Krishna Parsad Bhattarai (1990-1992). He was also the General Secretary of the Nepali Congress.

The hospital established at Gaushala, Kathmandu on Shrawan 5, 2068 BS in memory of this great personality remains closed since its destruction due to the massive earthquake of Baisakh 2072. But, at present 100 bedded hospital is under construction at Basundhara, Kathmandu, and its spread across 3 ropani land. The hospital is well equipped with modern health equipment including a modular Operation theatre. The services of the hospital will be started soon.

This Hospital will provide quality services, including the development of human resources in the health sector. Our services are available to all people irrespective of their social or economic status, gender, or where they come from. It aims to provide timely medical support to all patients to prevent any untoward situation in relation to their life.

Hospital is fully managed by Mahendra Narayan Nidhi Memorial Health Co-operative Limited with the effort of Mahendra Narayan Nidhi Memorial Foundation. Mahendra Narayan Nidhi Memorial Foundation (MNNMF) played a vital role in the launch of the Hospital. MN Nidhi Hospital is also running a Nursing College offering PCL Nursing Program: Mahendra Narayan Nidhi Memorial Health Insititute. In the future, it aims to run other academic sessions on health sciences, including diploma programs.

Specialty

This hospital is a sacred temple to the well-wishers and supporters of the Community for extending mutual connection. The statue of Mahendra Narayan Nidhi, an inspirational personality who played a leading political role from the sacred place of Nepal, Janaki-Janakpurdham will be installed on the premises of this hospital for the first time in Nepal.
