Overview
Adarsha Secondary School, Jhapa (आदर्श माध्यमिक विद्यालय, झापा) was established in 1968 AD (2025 BS)as a community based educational institution, which is situated in Mechinagar-8, Ayabari, Jhapa, Nepal. It is affiliated to the National Examination Board (NEB) and approved by the Ministry of Education. It offers educational programs from ECD to Grade 10 and plus two programs in Management, Humanities, and Education streams.
Adarsha Secondary School, Jhapa provides up to secondary level education with moderate fee structures and also provides a scholarship scheme for the deserving students.

The school has succeeded in winning the hearts of the parents and locals due to the progress made in a short time. Aiming to increase the quality of education, the school has succeeded in making the study interesting with special services and facilities for the students of small classes.
Four English teachers have been appointed on private salaries in the English medium school from nursery to class 3. Ping, Chakachuli, Gadhi, Chipleti have been arranged for the students of the small class to play with lunch and a separate block has been set up for them.
The school has been providing psycho-counseling center, separate toilets for female students and pads during menstruation to solve the problems faced by the students.
"If a student can read well in a small class, it will be easier in the upper classes," says Principal Khadka. "That's why we have started focusing on small classes with this campaign."
The school, which was established in 2025 BS, currently has 1,034 students. "Our main goal is to improve the quality of education," said Til Bahadur Raut, chairman of the school's management committee. "Unless the students' interest in learning grows, no matter how hard the teachers work, no progress can be made." The cooperation of teachers, students, and parents is exemplary.
At no time did a student have a definite time to go to school. However, students who enter the school at 10 am at this time will leave the gate only after the holiday at 4 pm. The school has been enabling the students to work in every field by joining the children's club with the aim of making them successful.
Teacher Devraj Giri said that the club has been playing an important role in the beautiful flower garden, Karesabari, extra-curricular activities every Friday, school cleaning, and educational activities through the club. According to him, potatoes, cauliflower, chili, eggplant, and other vegetables have been grown in Karesabari. Teacher Giri said that they are increasing the financial resources of the club by selling the fruits.
"Because of the successful leadership of the principal and the team spirit of the teachers, Adarsh Umawi is making better progress than expected," said Lok Bahadur Dahal, a resource person at the Kakarvita Resource Center.
