Panasonic

Japanese electronics giant Panasonic has unveiled an AI avatar of its founder, Konosuke Matsushita, known as the "God of Management." This AI is designed to answer various business-related questions, reflecting the founder’s visionary philosophies and principles.

Legacy of Konosuke Matsushita

Konosuke Matsushita, who passed away in 1989 at the age of 94, remains one of Japan's most respected entrepreneurs. He founded Panasonic in 1918 in a two-story house in Osaka when he was just 24 years old. Under his leadership, the company became a global electronics leader by 1962 and is known for innovations like rice cookers, batteries, and video recorders.

Even 35 years after his death, Matsushita’s wisdom continues to inspire. Panasonic’s website features his quotes, ranging from “Do it now” to “The voice of your time.”

AI Avatar Based on Matsushita's Philosophy

Panasonic created the AI avatar using a vast collection of Matsushita’s writings, speeches, and recorded audio. According to the company, the AI aims to “explore, illuminate, and pass down his philosophy to the next generation.”

In a demo question about the secret to living a good life, the AI Matsushita replied,
“The secret to a good life is remembering the spirit of youth—being lively and full of hope.”

AI Innovations in Philosophy

The revival of Matsushita's wisdom reflects a growing trend in AI-driven philosophy:

  • AI Buddha (2022): Japanese researchers developed an AI capable of answering deep and meaningful questions using references from Buddhist texts.

  • AI Jesus: A Swiss church recently introduced an AI version of Jesus capable of responding to inquiries in 100 languages.

Shaping the Future Through AI

Panasonic’s AI avatar is a testament to how technology can preserve and share the legacy of great leaders, offering timeless wisdom and practical guidance for modern challenges.
