The United States Peace Corps seeks experienced and qualified applicants for the full time contracted position of Training Coordinator (TC), Personal Services Contractor working 40 hours per week. Under the specific direction of the Director of Programming and Training (DPT) and Training Manager (TM ), the incumbent will support in developing, preparing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating and reporting of Peace Corps sponsored Pre-Service Training (PST), In-Service Trainings (ISTs/MSTs), Completion of Service (COS) training, and workshops/camps for Trainees and Volunteers. Further, TC will support in recruitment, selection, and training of seasonal/temporary training staff, and coordination of the work of the Language and Cross-culture Coordinator.
Minimum Qualification Required:
- University Bachelor's degree in any discipline
- Minimum two years of experience in facilitating training sessions about Nepali language, culture, and traditions/values/customs and practices of the ethnic diversities of Nepal
- Minimum one-year experience coordinating training logistics and /or event planning for community-based training events
- Fluency in both English and Nepali (written and spoken) is required, and an ability to quickly and accurately translate from Nepali to English, and vice versa.
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), & internet
- Mustbeabletolive&workoutsideofKathmandufor13to15 weeks during peak training seasons
- Must meet US Embassy security clearance requirements.
Graduate Degree preferred
Work experience with American or international organizations, and preferably organizations that achieve their mission through volunteerism. Experience planning and implementing host family selection processes for American or other foreign Trainees. Experience planning and implementing Training of Trainers (TOT) sessions for short-term/seasonal staff. Experience in designing and facilitating learning sessions that embrace student-centered learning, critical thinking, and the Experiential Learning Cycle. Demonstrated flexibility to provide safety and security support to Trainees as needed. Experience coordinating the work of seasonal/short-term training staff. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including empathy, coaching skills, and providing direct feedback.
