B.Sc. Forestry Admission Entrance Exam 2081 from Agriculture and Forestry University

Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU), Faculty of Forestry, Dean's Office, Hetauda, Makwanpur Notice for Online Application Form for B.Sc. Forestry Entrance Examination

Applications are invited from eligible students to study Bachelor of Science in Forestry (B.Sc. Forestry) for the academic session 2081 - 2085 at this faculty and its constituent colleges, including College of Natural Resource Management, Katari - Udayapur, and affiliated private college Siddhant Campus, Gaindakot - Nawalparasi.

The admission program for the mentioned level is detailed as follows. Applicants must submit their academic qualification certificate, citizenship certificate, and equivalence certificate along with the online application form.

Applicants who wish to apply under various quotas must scan and attach their respective quota certificates, recommendation letters, and a recently taken passport-sized photo showing both ears. Additionally, the applicant's signature sample must also be attached.

1. Minimum Educational Qualification Required:

Applicants must have passed SLC/SEE or equivalent and studied ISc (Science) or 10+2 (Science) or obtained a Technical Certificate level in Forestry with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate or secured a 'C' grade in each subject with an overall 'C+' grade. For subjects with both theory and practical components, applicants must have a minimum 'C' grade in each component or an overall 'C' grade in the combined (Theory + Practical) subject. Applications not meeting these qualifications will be disqualified, and such applicants will not be included in the entrance examination.

Students who have yet to take the grade increment exam or whose results are pending will be allowed to participate in the entrance exam and admission process. However, if they do not meet the minimum qualifications after the results are published, they will not be admitted.

2. Application Form and Entrance Examination Fee:

The entrance examination fee is set at NPR 3,500/- (Three Thousand Five Hundred Rupees). This amount can be deposited through E-Sewa or Khalti at the place where the application form is filled.

3. Application Form Submission Period:

The online application form can be submitted from Wednesday, Shrawan 30, 2081, until Friday, Bhadra 21, 2081, at 12:00 midnight, and with double fees from Saturday, Bhadra 22, 2081, until Monday, Bhadra 24, 2081, at 12:00 midnight. The online application form can be filled out on the university's website https://sis.afu.edu.np. If there is any difficulty in the application process, technical assistance can be obtained by contacting online@afu.edu.np. Applications that are not properly and fully filled out will not be processed. The applicant must download and print the admit card from https://sis.afu.edu.np.

4. Applications Sent Through Other Means:

Applications and other documents submitted by means other than online will not be processed. Additionally, if any required documents are missing, the entrance examination fee will not be refunded.

5. Additional Information Regarding the Entrance Exam:

Further information regarding the entrance exam will be published later.

6. Admission Criteria:

Admission will be based on the entrance examination scores, with 100% weightage given to these scores. A merit list will be prepared based on these scores, and admissions will be conducted according to the merit list. The passing mark for the entrance exam will be 50%. In case of equal marks, the total marks (CGPA) of I.Sc. / 10 + 2, followed by the GPA of grade 12, grade 11, and SEE / SLC marks, will be considered in order.

7.Entrance Exam Question Format:

The entrance exam will include a total of 120 questions from the following subjects based on the certificate level curriculum, and all questions will be multiple choice objective type. The exam duration will be 90 minutes.

(b) Chemistry - 20

(c) Mathematics - 10

(d) Physics - 10

(e) Botany - 20

(f) Forestry - 14

(g) Zoology - 20

(h) General Knowledge - 6

8. Reservation Quotas:

Seats are reserved for female, disabled, Dalit, indigenous, Madhesi, martyr families, conflict victims, staff, and students from remote and underdeveloped areas (Humla, Jumla, Dolpa, Kalikot, Mugu, Achham, Bajhang, Bajura, and Jajarkot districts).

For the remote area quota, priority will be given to students who have passed SLC / SEE from fully government-funded community secondary schools in those districts.

Interested applicants must include a recommendation letter from the respective district education office, certifying that the school they graduated from was a fully government-funded community school, when submitting the online application.

This recommendation letter must be presented in original form at the time of admission. Otherwise, such applications will not be processed. If the number of students is insufficient, students who passed SLC / SEE from private schools in remote areas will be admitted under the reserved quota.

Apart from the female quota, applicants wishing to be admitted under other quotas must click on the desired quota during the online application process and upload the recommendation letter with the relevant certification. For the disabled quota, selection will be based on both category and merit.

  5. Martyr Family: Relevant Ministry of the Government of Nepal / Concerned District's District Administration Office

  6. Conflict Victim Family: Relevant Ministry of the Government of Nepal / Concerned District's District Administration Office

  7. Staff: Certificate of employment for the concerned teachers/employees, their spouse, son, daughter, or dependent

  8. Local: Recommendation letter issued by the concerned local authority (Ward Office / Municipality / Rural Municipality) for the local resident of the area where the Faculty of Forestry or its affiliated college is located

Applicants seeking admission under this quota will be selected based on merit within the specified quota. At the time of admission, applicants must present the original documents they submitted with their application for the quota.

9. Admission to the B.Sc. Forestry Level: Admissions will be conducted as per the guidelines provided below. According to the MOU between Agriculture and Forestry University, Faculty of Forestry, and the Ministry of Forests and Environment, Government of Nepal, nominated individuals will be included in the specified quota and will be granted continuity. If any admitted student cancels their admission, the seat will be converted to the University Development Fund (UDF) quota, and the next eligible student based on merit will be admitted.

10. Required Documents for Online Application Submission:

When filling out the application form, the following documents must be submitted in the specified order along with the online application:

(a) Recent passport-sized photo (one copy)

(b) Nepali Citizenship Certificate

(c) SEE / SLC or equivalent examination mark sheet

(d) Transcript of Certificate Level / 10+2

(e) Equivalence Certificate

(f) If applying under quotas, relevant certificates or recommendation letters

11. Document Submission for Admission:

For admission, students must submit the original copies of all required documents, including:

  • Nepali Citizenship Certificate
  • SEE / SLC examination mark sheet and character certificate
  • Certificate Level transcript and character certificate
  • Original certificate or Provisional Certificate of Certificate Level
  • Equivalence Certificate
  • If applying under quotas, relevant quota certificates or recommendation letters as per the published list

These documents, except for the Nepali Citizenship Certificate, will be retained by the faculty or affiliated colleges for the entire duration of the first semester. Students will not be allowed to retrieve these documents during this period. Admission will not be granted if any of the required documents are missing.

12. Admission Fees:

(a) Admission Fee: NPR 6,030/- per semester

(b) Security Deposit: NPR 2,101/- (one-time, at the time of admission)

(c) University Registration Fee: NPR 500/- (one-time, at the time of admission)

(d) For students admitted under Staff Quota (Full Fee), Local Quota (Full Fee), University Development Fund (UDF) Quota, and those nominated by the Ministry of Forests and Environment under the departmental quota, an additional fee of NPR 2,50,000/- (Two Lakh Fifty Thousand Rupees) has been set. The first installment of NPR 1,00,000/- (One Lakh Rupees) must be paid at the time of admission in the first semester. The second installment of NPR 1,00,000/- (One Lakh Rupees) must be paid in the third semester, and the third installment of NPR 50,000/- (Fifty Thousand Rupees) must be paid during the admission of the fifth semester.

13. Merit-Based Admission:

Admissions will be conducted through a counseling process based on merit. The counseling schedule will be published after the entrance examination results are announced.

14. Admission in Affiliated Colleges:

Affiliated colleges must collect a Letter of Interest (LOI) from students who fall under the merit list provided by the Faculty of Forestry, Hetauda, and the Constituent College of Natural Resource Management, Katari-Udayapur, and admit students based on merit after the admissions at these institutions are complete.

15. Admission Rights:

The Dean's Office of the Faculty of Forestry holds all rights related to admissions.

16. Migration Certificate Requirement:

Students who have obtained certificates from other universities or educational institutions must submit the original Migration Certificate during the registration process at Agriculture and Forestry University (A.F.U.). The university will not take responsibility if there are issues with A.F.U. registration due to the failure to submit the Migration Certificate on time.

17. Hostel Facilities:

Hostel facilities will not be available for admitted students.
