Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU) - Admissions Notice for B.V.Sc. & A.H. / B.Sc. Fisheries
AFU, Faculty of Animal Science, Veterinary Science, and Fisheries, Dean's Office, Rampur, Chitwan, Nepal: This will inform prospective students interested in pursuing the B.V.Sc. & A.H. and B.Sc. Fisheries programs at Agriculture and Forestry University for the academic year 2081/082. Students meeting the minimum educational requirements are invited to apply for admission as outlined below.
1. Minimum Educational Requirements:

Applicants must have passed the SEE/SLC or equivalent examination from a recognized institution with at least a Second Division or a C+ grade.

Additionally, candidates must have completed 10+2 in Science/I.Sc., A-Level, proficiency certificates or diplomas in Animal/Agricultural/Forestry Science, or Health Science-related disciplines (such as General Medicine, Medical Lab Technology, Ophthalmic Science, Dental Science, Pharmacy, Radiography, Ayurveda, or Physiotherapy).

Required subjects include English, Chemistry, Biology (with at least 100 marks each), and Mathematics and Physics (with at least 50 marks each), with a minimum of 50% total marks or a C+ grade (2.4 CGPA).

Subjects with both theory and practical components require a combined minimum of a C grade. Applications not meeting these qualifications will be deemed ineligible, and applicants will not be allowed to sit for the entrance exam.
2. Application Dates and Time:
Applications can be submitted online from Kartik 13, 2081, to Mangsir 13, 2081, until midnight through the university website at https://sis.afu.edu.np. For technical assistance during the online application process, applicants can contact info@favf.edu.np or call 9855052569. Incomplete or improperly filled applications will not be processed.
3. Application and Entrance Exam Fees:
For applying to one program (either B.V.Sc. & A.H. or B.Sc. Fisheries), the fee is NPR 4,000. For both programs, the total fee is NPR 5,000. Fees can be paid through the online payment link in the application form. Applicants must ensure that their full name and mobile number are entered correctly.
Multiple applicants' Payments from the same mobile number will not be accepted. The successful submission of the online application will be confirmed via email. Be sure to select the correct faculty, as fees paid to incorrect faculty are non-refundable.
4. Admit Card:
Applicants must download and print their admit card from the "Check Your Status" option on the online portal one day before the exam.
5. Entrance Exam Date, Time, and Venue:
The entrance exam will be conducted on Mangsir 15, 2081, at 11:00 AM in Chitwan and Kathmandu. Details on the exam center will be posted on afu.edu.np and printed on the admit card.
6. Entrance Exam Syllabus:
The entrance exam will cover the following subjects from the 10+2 curriculum with multiple-choice questions:

There will be 120 questions, with a time limit of 1 hour and 30 minutes.
7. Publication of Results:
The entrance exam results will be published on the evening of Mangsir 15, 2081, and can be accessed on afu.edu.np.
8. Admission Criteria:
Entrance exam scores will carry a 100% weight. The minimum passing score is 50%. A merit list will be prepared based on these admission scores. In case of a tie, 10+2 CGPA, SEE/SLC scores, and further subject-wise scores in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics will determine ranking.
9. Required Documents for Admission:
All original documents must be presented during admission. Required documents include:

Three passport-sized photos were submitted with the application.

Original citizenship certificate.

Original SEE/SLC transcript and character certificate.

Original 10+2 or equivalent transcript and character certificate.

Original and provisional certificates for 10+2 or equivalent.

Original migration certificate for 10+2 or equivalent.

Equivalence certificate (only for those who completed SEE/SLC or equivalent outside Nepal).

Original recommendation letter for reserved category admissions.

Original entrance exam admit card.
Note:

Prospective students for the B.V.Sc. & A.H. and B.Sc. Fisheries programs at Agriculture and Forestry University are required to follow the admission procedures as outlined below.

All applicants must present original documents and complete the admission fees at the Dean's Office Accounts Section within the specified date and time.

Applicants or guardians must also contact the Faculty’s Academic Administration for further processing.

Any applicant found with incomplete or falsified documents will be disqualified from the admission process.
10. The admission process and dates will be announced later.
11. Students who pass the entrance exam and wish to apply under the University Development Fund (UDF) and Faculty Development Fund (FDF) quotas must apply within the specified timeframe and in the required format, as will be announced. For UDF admission to B.V.Sc. & A.H., the fee is NPR 600,000 and NPR 310,000 for B.Sc. Fisheries.
These fees are payable in two installments: 50% during the first semester and 50% during the third semester. Under the FDF program, 50 students will be admitted based on merit. FDF fees are NPR 1,200,000, payable in three installments: 50% in the first semester, 30% in the third semester, and the remaining 20% in the fifth semester.
12. Admission slots are reserved for students from various quotas:
Provincial, female, Dalit, Indigenous, Madhesi, martyr family, conflict-affected, disabled, staff, local, and Nepal government staff. For the provincial quota, applicants must have citizenship from that province and must have passed SEE/SLC from a fully government-funded community school in that province.
Applicants for this quota must attach a recommendation letter from the District Education Coordination Committee confirming that the school is fully government-funded and present the original letter during admission. Failure to provide the recommendation will result in disqualification.
For other quotas, applicants must submit relevant certificates or recommendation letters at the time of application. Selection for the disability quota will be based on both the category of disability and merit.

Conflict-Affected Family Quota: Relationship verification (spouse, son, or daughter) recommendation from the District Administration Office or relevant government ministry

Martyr Family Quota: Relationship verification (spouse, son, or daughter) recommendation from the District Administration Office or relevant government ministry

Disabled Quota: Ministry of Women, Children, and Senior Citizens / Local Authority

Staff Quota: Relationship verification (spouse, son, or daughter) recommendation, citizenship certificate, and recommendation letter from the Faculty. Admission for the Staff Quota will be on a merit basis within the specified quota, limited to two candidates. If the applicant has already received this benefit from another university faculty, it will be counted.

Local Quota: Recommendation from Bharatpur Metropolitan City, where the Faculty of Animal Science, Veterinary Science, and Fisheries is located.

Nepal Government Staff Quota: Recommendation from the Department of Animal Services.
13. Admissions for B.V.Sc. and A.H. / B.Sc. Fisheries programs will be conducted according to the reserved quota distribution outlined below.

One UDF seat is reserved for applicants under the MOU with the Department of Livestock Services, Government of Nepal. Admission to these seats will be based on the merit of the entrance exam, while the remaining seats in this quota, except for the reserved one, will also follow the UDF quota system.

A total of 50 students will be admitted under the FDF program based on the merit list.
