  • Vice-Chancellor Bhola Thapa's Vision: Under his guidance, the university aims to fill 100% of its seats. The approach includes community outreach and informing students about the diverse educational programs available at KU.
  • Local Community Engagement: To counter the trend of studying abroad, KU reaches out to the local community, highlighting the quality and variety of its courses.

Faculty-Specific Enrollment Trends:

  • Faculty of Education: This faculty has seen a dramatic increase from 46% to 92% in seat occupancy over three years.
  • Faculty of Science: Enrollment here jumped from 53% to 87% in the same period, thanks to extended centralized entrance exams and increased scholarships.
  • Innovative Approaches: Both faculties have employed innovative strategies, such as curriculum customization and outreach at the local level, to attract students.

Scholarship and Gender Diversity:

  • KU introduced scholarships across all faculties, leading to increased enrollment in Humanities (73%), Engineering (88%), Management (89%), Medicine (91%), and Law (100%).
  • Notably, female students outnumber male students in Humanities, Law, Management, and Medicine, showcasing KU's commitment to gender diversity.

Internationalization and New Programs:

  • Plans for International Students: KU aims to admit foreign students across all seven faculties, with a special focus on Medicine, Management, Education, Humanities, and Science.
  • New Academic Programs: KU has launched 15 new programs, including Yogic Science, Psychology, Development Studies, and MBA International, catering to a diverse range of interests and career paths.
