Submission of Required Documents for Quota Admission in IOE BE and B.Arch Programs 2081

Tribhuvan University, Institute of Engineering (IOE), OFFICE OF THE DEAN Notice Regarding Submission of Required Documents for Quota Applications for Bachelor’s Level (BE/B.Arch) Programs in Constituent Campuses of IOE

The applicants who passed the entrance examination conducted by the IOE Entrance Examination Board for the academic year 2081/082 and wish to apply for admission under various quotas in the constituent campuses of the Institute of Engineering are informed to submit the following documents. The submission period is from 2081 Bhadra 23 to Bhadra 27, between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM at IOE, Pulchowk Campus, Center for Information Technology (CIT).

Required Documents:

  1. For Female Quota (Section 6.1):
    No documents need to be submitted at this time as the admission process for this quota will be handled directly by the respective campuses.

  2. For IOE/TU Faculty/Staff Quota (Section 6.2):

    a. In case of IOE/TU faculty/staff themselves:

    • A letter addressed to IOE specifying the campus where the applicant is a faculty/staff member.
    • A certified copy of the applicant's Nepali citizenship certificate.
    • Scorecard from the entrance examination conducted by IOE.
    • Certified copy of the appointment letter (permanent appointment with completed probation period required).
    • Prior approval letter from the concerned Dean’s or Registrar’s office.

    b. In case of children of IOE/TU faculty/staff:

    • A letter addressed to IOE specifying the campus where the applicant’s parent is a faculty/staff member.
    • Certified copy of the applicant’s Nepali citizenship certificate.
    • Scorecard from the entrance examination conducted by IOE.
    • Certified copy of the parent’s Nepali citizenship certificate (IOE/TU faculty/staff).
    • Certified copy of the parent’s appointment letter (permanent appointment with completed probation period required).
    • A recommendation letter from the campus office where the parent is currently employed.
    • If the relationship with the parent is not evident from the citizenship certificate, a certificate establishing the relationship must be provided.
  3. For TU Reserved Economically Disadvantaged Quota (Section 6.3):

    • A letter addressed to IOE specifying the community from which the applicant is applying. (The format for the letter is available in the annex of this notice).
    • Certified copy of the applicant's Nepali citizenship certificate.
    • Scorecard from the entrance examination conducted by IOE.
    • Certified copy of the certificate issued by the relevant ethnic federation/commission/institution/district administration office or any authorized body designated by the Government of Nepal, stating that the applicant belongs to the specified caste/community.
    • Certified copy of a permanent resident certificate from the relevant municipality or rural municipality for applicants from backward and remote areas.
    • Certified copies of transcripts from grades 8, 9, and SEE from a government/community school as proof of study.
    • Certified copy of a letter from the district education office or the education branch of the rural/municipal office stating that the applicant studied in a government/community school.
    • Certified copies of transcripts from grades 11 and 12 or equivalent level, showing study in a government/community school or a constituent campus of Tribhuvan University (TU), passed in regular (first attempt) mode.
    • Certified letter from the district education office or rural/municipal education branch confirming that the applicant studied in a government/community school during grades 11 and 12 or equivalent level.
    • If the applicant received a scholarship from the Government of Nepal or a recognized institution, the district education office or the National Examination Board (NEB) must certify that the applicant received the scholarship, or the relevant ward office must certify that the applicant studied on an NEB scholarship based on the ward office's recommendation.
    • Original recommendation letter addressed to IOE from the relevant municipality or rural municipality or the ward office of the concerned local government, stating that the applicant falls below the poverty line according to the criteria set by the Government of Nepal.
  4. For Quotas Sponsored by Government and Government-Owned Institutions (Section 6.4):

    a. For working employees:

    • A letter addressed to IOE specifying the government office where the applicant is employed and the government institution sponsoring the applicant.
    • Certified copy of the applicant's Nepali citizenship certificate.
    • Scorecard from the entrance examination conducted by IOE.
    • Original department approval letter allowing the employee to study for the duration of the program (4 years for BE, 5 years for B.Arch).
    • Original sponsorship commitment letter from the sponsoring government institution (the sponsoring institution must be a district-level government institution or recommended by one).

    b. For applicants from classified groups by the Government of Nepal:

    • A letter addressed to IOE specifying the government institution sponsoring the applicant.
    • Certified copy of the applicant's Nepali citizenship certificate.
    • Scorecard from the entrance examination conducted by IOE.
    • Certified copy of the certificate issued by the relevant ethnic federation/commission/institution/district administration office or any authorized body designated by the Government of Nepal, stating that the applicant belongs to the specified caste/community.
    • Certified copies of transcripts from grades 8, 9, and SEE from a government/community school as proof of study.
    • Certified letter from the district education office or rural/municipal education branch confirming that the applicant studied in a government/community school during grades 11 and 12 or equivalent level.
    • Certified letter from the district education office or rural/municipal education branch confirming that the applicant studied in a government/community school during grades 11 and 12 or equivalent level.
    • If the applicant received a scholarship from the Government of Nepal or a recognized institution, the district education office or the National Examination Board (NEB) must certify that the applicant received the scholarship, or the relevant ward office must certify that the applicant studied on an NEB scholarship based on the ward office's recommendation.
    • Certified copy of the decision made to sponsor the applicant for admission in the constituent campuses of IOE.
    • Original sponsorship commitment letter from the sponsoring government institution (the sponsoring institution must be a district-level government institution or recommended by one).
  5. For Foreign Quota:

    • Application letter to IOE as a foreign applicant.
    • Attested copy of passport or ID with a photo provided by the embassy.

Appendix (For Economically Disadvantaged Quota, Section 6.3):

Application for Inclusive Economically Disadvantaged Quota:

I would like to inform you that I participated in the entrance examination for BE/B.Arch for the academic year 2081/082 conducted by the IOE Entrance Examination Board and have passed the exam. I am submitting my application for admission under the Inclusive Economically Disadvantaged Quota (Section 6.3), along with the required documents for the reservation seat as mentioned below.
