Foreign Employment Board Started 160-hour Skill base Training for Youth:

The Foreign Employment Board in collaboration with the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) has conducted free training targeting youths who want to go for foreign employment and those who have returned from foreign employment. The training is for those who want to go for foreign employment after learning the skill, those who have returned from abroad, or those who want to work in the country.

The training includes Cook, Waiter, Housekeeping, Kitchen Assistant, Front Office Assistant, Security Guard, Docker, House Painter, Plumber Assistant, Welder Assistant, Junior Furniture Maker, Beautician, Junior Beautician, Stuttering Carpentry, Assistant Scaffolder, Electrician, etc.

According to Rajan Prasad Shrestha, executive director of the board, if you want to go for foreign employment for the 160-hour training, you have to fill in a passport and self-declaration form. It has been stated that special priority will be given to those who have returned from foreign employment.

Efforts have been made to link the skill development training with the local level as well. If the local level provides a place to conduct the training, the organization that has entered into an agreement with the training board to conduct the training at the local level will provide employment. If there is no such place, those institutions will be able to conduct training in their own training centers.

The Board of Foreign Employment will refund the fee paid to the participants if they pass the skill test conducted by the National Skills Testing Board (NSTB) at the fee prescribed by the Board in coordination with CTEVT. For this, it is mandatory to have a certificate of 90 percent attendance and passing the skill test during the training period.

Those who have completed one month of training will receive a Level 1 certificate. If those who have passed Level 1 demand it, Level 2 training can be provided in the same way, said Shrestha, Executive Director of the Board.

In order to conduct training on various subjects, training secretarial agreements have been signed between the Board Secretariat, CTEVT, and various training providers in different states. The board has stated that it aims to impart skill development training to 7,360 people.
