International Mathematics Conference from 9 to 11 April 2021:
The International Mathematics Conference is scheduled to be held from 27 to 29 Chaitra 2077 (9th to 11th April 2021). More than 200 mathematicians from 10 countries including Nepal will participate in the conference organized by the Nepal Mathematical Society through a virtual medium, said Dr. Chetraj Bhatta, president of the society.
He said that the conference will be organized to research the importance of mathematics and the genre of mathematics. The conference covers 23 disciplines of mathematics.
He said the conference would also be useful in explaining the international significance of mathematics at a time when the government is devaluing mathematics.
At the conference, Nepali mathematicians will also present their views in the international arena.
The purpose of the conference is to acquaint Nepali mathematicians with the worldwide study and research in the field of mathematics and to introduce the study and research taking place in the country to the international world. In Nepal, more than 50 have done their doctorate in mathematics and more than 100 have done MPhil.
Five working papers and 25 invited working papers will be presented at the conference. The conference, which was supposed to be held last year, started in Chait due to the coronavirus.
