NCIT Unveils Groundbreaking IT and Entrepreneurship Exhibition

The Nepal College of Information Technology (NCIT) based in Balkumari hosted a major career fair and exhibition centered on information technology and entrepreneurship. The much-anticipated event, inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Deepak Bahadur Bhandari, the Registrar of Pokhara University, exhibited a fascinating mix of completed student research projects, burgeoning startup business models, and a showcase of Nepal's information technology market.

Remarkable Student Achievements

The display of 52 technology-related projects and 40 advanced technopreneurship startup ideas underscored the ingenuity and creative prowess of the college's final semester Bachelor of Engineering students. These innovative projects ranged from an advanced home automation system and a criminal face recognition tool to an online shopping website. Some notable startup ideas included JoshiHerbs, Nari, E-Sawari, and Easy Living.

"The projects done by the students by mixing information technology and entrepreneurship are truly innovative and inspiring," remarked Prof. Bhandari, expressing his admiration for the exhibition's quality and the unique, forward-thinking initiatives put forth by the students.

Attracting Potential Investment

This open exhibition, which welcomed guests from various external organizations, the college professors and staff, as well as the general public, also aimed to attract venture capitalists and angel investors. Promising student entrepreneurs took the opportunity to present their projects to potential investors, explaining the potential and operation of their prototypes.

Two such students, Ayush Raj Regmi and Thomas Basyal, showcased their Virtual Fitness Coach Project. The duo expressed their aspiration to transform the fitness industry using computer technology, aiming to take their project commercially.

Cultivating Technopreneurship in Nepal

The Advanced Technopreneurship program was a highlight of the event, with one participant, Oscar Giri, lauding the program for spurring his entrepreneurial drive. His startup, "E-Sawari", is on the path of becoming an eco-friendly electric vehicle and ride-sharing company in Nepal.

Samundra Poudel, the focal person of the Advanced Technopreneurship Course, proudly announced, "NCIT is the first campus to successfully complete the program and we have prepared promising entrepreneurs."

Recognizing Excellence

The event concluded with awards for the best projects and special recognition to volunteers, judges, and several leading professionals from Nepal's IT industry. The exhibition served not just as a showcase of talent but also as an inspiration to others, highlighting NCIT's commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Nepal's youth.
