Nepal Government to Celebrate National ICT Day with a Three-Day Program and a Grand Celebration on May 2, 2023

The government of Nepal is all set to celebrate the National Information and Communication Technology Day 'ICT Day' on May 2, 2023. The government has chosen the slogan "Safe Information Technology, Good Governance, and Prosperity" for this year's celebration, which will continue for three days from April 30 to May 2. The Cyber Security Branch of the Ministry of Communication and Technology has issued a statement regarding the event.

The ceremony committee formed under the coordination of Ministry Secretary Krishna Bahadur Raut has passed the original slogan and has decided to celebrate the day in a grand manner this year. Cyber Security Branch Computer Engineer Saroj Pokharel has informed that the decision was taken in the meeting held on April 24, 2023.

To make the event a grand success, the Publicity Sub-Committee has requested the homepage of all the ministries and agencies under the ministries, state, and local levels to distribute the message "Let's celebrate the National Information and Communication Technology Day grandly" from April 30 to May 2, 2023. The committee has also requested everyone to use hashtags #NationalICTDAY2023 and #NepaliCTDAY2023 on social media on the day of Communication Technology Day.

To spread awareness about the event, the Publicity Sub-Committee has requested the Nepal Telecommunication Authority to send the message "Let's celebrate ICT Day 2023 grandly" as a ringback tone for three days from April 30 to May 2, 2023, through the telecommunication service provider. The committee has also requested the authority to send SMS to mobile users on the morning of May 2, 2023.

Overall, the government of Nepal and the private sector celebrate Communication and Information Technology Day 'ICT Day' every year on May 2. This year, the government has planned a three-day program with various events and activities to make the celebration a grand success.
