Overview
Bahrabise Municipality (बाह्रविसे नगरपालिका) is one of the three municipalities of Sindhupalchak and one of the 276 municipalities in the country. Sindhupalchak alone has 12 local levels.
In 2017, Ghaerthali (1 to 4 wards), Karthali, Barhavise, Gati, Ghumthang, Maneshwara, and Ramche have been formed in this municipality. Currently, there are 9 wards in this municipality.
It is bounded on the east by Dolakha district, on the west by Sindhupalchak of Jugal Gaupalika, on the north by Bhotekoshi Gaupalika and on the south by Tripurasundari and Balefi Gaupalika.
The town, which has many hills and peaks, has become a municipality according to the criteria of the Himalayan municipality.
Barhabise Nagarpalika has a land area of 500 meters to 4000 meters above sea level. It has a population of 26535 and an area of 134.8 sq. Km. It is known as Barhabise Bazaar which has municipal buildings. However, the majority of the ancestral Newar castes in this market. But in the overall population of the municipality, the population of Tamang caste is seen first. There are many castes and language speakers including Brahmins, Chhetris, Tamangs, Sherpas, Gurungs, and Thami community.
