Overview
Chautara Sangachokgadhi Municipality (चौतारा साँगाचोकगढी नगरपालिका) belongs to the Sindhupalchok district under Bagmati province. It is also the district headquarters of the municipality. The total area of the municipality is 165.25 sq. Km. Is This municipality is made up of 10 former VDCs (Chautara, Pipaldanda, Kuvinde, Sanosiruwari, Syaule, Batase, Irkhu, Kadambas, Sangachok, and Thulosiruwari VDCs); Currently, the municipality has 14 wards.
According to the 2011 AD (2068 BS) census, the total population of the Chautara Sangachokgadhi Nagarpalika is 46501, while according to the Household Statistics Survey, 2017 (2075 BS), the total population of the municipality is 513477. This municipality is inhabited by castes belonging to different religions. The main feature of the people here is the religious and cultural festivals. It is home to followers of various religions such as Hindus, Buddhists, and Christians. Which reflects the universal culture. The main language is Nepali, Tamang, Newari, and other languages are also spoken.
