CTEVT Special Scholarship for Pre-Diploma, Diploma, PCL Technical Programs 2081

Office of the Controller of the Examination (OCE), Sanothimi, Bhaktapur Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) Urgent Notice Regarding the Application Form for the Entrance Examination to Study Free of Cost Under the Special Scholarship Program for Dalit, Muslim, Economically Disadvantaged, and Marginalized Community Students in Pre-Diploma and Diploma/Certificate Level Programs

As per the letter from the Technical Branch of the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT), with chalans No. 317 dated 2081/04/21, chalan No. 331 dated 2081/04/22, and chalan No. 530 dated 2081/04/28, in accordance with the budget and program of the Government of Nepal for the fiscal year 2081/082, a total of 360 seats have been allocated for Dalit, Muslim, economically disadvantaged, and marginalized community students.

These seats include 324 seats for Diploma/Certificate level and 36 seats for Pre-Diploma level programs.

This notice has been published to inform all concerned that eligible Nepali citizens are invited to fill out the application form for the entrance examination to study free of cost under the Special Scholarship Program in the following technical education programs.

For the marginalized community, this includes the 22 listed deprived indigenous nationalities (Bankariya, Baram, Bote, Chepang, Danuwar, Dhanuk, Hayu, Jhagad, Kisan, Kusunda, Lepcha, Majhi, Meche, Kuswadia, Raji, Raute, Satar, Sinsa (Lhomi), Siyar, Surel, Thami, and Thunam) as recognized by the Government of Nepal, as well as Haliya and Kamaiya.

  1. Target Group: A total of 360 students from Dalit, Muslim, economically disadvantaged, and marginalized communities.

Institution Designation: The Technical Branch will designate institutions and recommend candidates for admission.

3) Required Minimum Qualifications

(1) Required Minimum Academic Qualifications for Diploma/Certificate Level:

(A) For Entrance Examinations Prior to the Implementation of the Grading System:

  • Programs Offered: All Diploma/Certificate Level Programs
  • Required Minimum Academic Qualification: Must have passed the SLC or equivalent examination from a recognized educational institution with compulsory subjects including Mathematics, English, and Science. Alternatively, must have passed the related Technical SLC/Pre-Diploma level programs conducted by the Council, securing at least 68.33% of the total marks.

(B) For Entrance Examinations After the Implementation of the Grading System:

  • Programs Offered: Diploma/Certificate Level General Medicine and Medical Lab Technology Programs

  • Required Minimum Academic Qualification: Must have passed the entrance examination or SEE with compulsory subjects including English, Mathematics, and Science, with a minimum GPA of 2.0 out of 4.0. Alternatively, must have passed the related Technical SLC/Pre-Diploma level programs conducted by the Council, securing at least 68.33% of the total marks.

  • Programs Offered: All Other Programs Under Diploma/Certificate Level Except Health Sciences

  • Required Minimum Academic Qualification: Must have passed the entrance examination or SEE with compulsory subjects including English, Mathematics, and Science, with a minimum GPA of 1.6 out of 4.0. Alternatively, must have passed the related Technical SLC/Pre-Diploma level programs conducted by the Council, securing at least 68.33% of the total marks.

4. Application Form Collection and Submission Locations:

Applicants must submit their application forms only from the province where their permanent address is located.

(A) For Applicants from Koshi Province:

5. Application Form Submission Dates:

8. Required Documents to be Submitted with the Application Form:

(A) Certified copy of Citizenship Certificate or Birth Registration Certificate proving Nepali citizenship.

(B) Certified copy of Dalit identity card or certificate issued by the National Dalit Commission, District Administration Office, or Municipal Office.

(C) Certified copy of certificate issued by the Municipal Office or District Administration Office for Muslim applicants.

(D) Certified copy of the letter issued by the local authority recommending the applicant as an economically disadvantaged student.

(E) Certified copy of the letter issued by the concerned municipality for applicants from marginalized communities listed by the Government of Nepal (22 indigenous ethnic groups and Haliya and Kamaiya).

(F) Certified copies of SEE, Technical SLC/Pre-Diploma level mark sheet, character certificate, and result of the test examination for 29-month Technical SLC.

(G) Certified copy of Migration and Equivalence Certificate for applicants who have passed from boards other than the SEE board of the Government of Nepal.

(H) Two recent passport-sized photographs (35x45mm) with a clear facial image.

(I) Certified copy of the local body letter for applicants who have changed their residence six months prior to the publication of this notice.

9. Information Regarding the Selection Process:

(A) Only applicants who meet the minimum qualifications and have properly filled out the application form within the specified time will be allowed to take the entrance examination.

(B) The concerned educational institutions/offices must enter the application forms into the Web Based Online Integrated Training Management System (ITMS) provided by CTEVT. Symbols and admission cards will be issued only after the forms have been approved by the Office of the Controller of Examinations.

(C) Among the applicants whose forms have been entered online by the educational institutions/offices within the specified time, the main candidates and passing list will be prepared based on the highest marks obtained by combining the total marks obtained in the entrance examination or SEE with the marks obtained in the entrance examination.

(D) The rank will be determined as follows:

(1) 30% weightage will be given to the marks obtained in the entrance or SEE examination as per the Admission, Scholarship Distribution, and Enrollment Guidelines 2081 for the Diploma and Certificate levels.

(2) 70% weightage will be given to the marks obtained in the entrance examination. A total of 70 multiple-choice questions will be asked, with 25 questions from compulsory Mathematics, 25 from Science, and 20 from English.

(3) The ranking will be determined by adding the marks obtained in the certificates and entrance examinations. A minimum of 35 marks is required to be included in the merit list.

(4) In case of a tie in marks, the admission guidelines will be followed as per the merit list.

(E) The result will be prepared based on the highest marks and will be published in Gorkhapatra National Daily and at www.ctevtexam.org.np. The Technical Branch of the Council will recommend the institutions for the enrollment of candidates for programs other than Certificate Level General Medicine and Medical Lab Technology programs.

10. Regarding Vacant Quota:

  • If the allocated quota for any program remains vacant, candidates from other categories or groups who have applied and were selected based on the highest marks will be chosen.

11. Regarding Registration:

  • Enrolled candidates must fill out the registration form according to the Admission Guidelines 2081 and submit the overall details to the respective CTEVT Province Office after online entry in ITMS.

12. Additional Instructions:

(A) The educational institutions/offices must collect the properly filled application forms within the deadline and enter them into ITMS. A remuneration of Rs. 50/- per application will be provided only if the details of the applicant are entered by the responsible staff of the institution/office.

(B) After verifying and approving the application forms, the educational institutions/offices must complete the online entry by 21st Bhadra 2081 and submit the sealed application forms to the Office of the Controller of Examinations by 30th Bhadra 2081 for result publication.

(C) Candidates recommended as main candidates through the entrance examination and enrolled in the designated educational institution will be provided with a monthly allowance of Rs. 3,500/-, an annual transportation allowance of Rs. 1,500/-, an annual clothing allowance of Rs. 2,500/-, and free hostel facilities for the duration of the training.

(D) Students currently registered and studying in regular or other programs under CTEVT are not eligible to apply for this scholarship. If such candidates are found to have applied, their forms will be automatically canceled.

(E) Classes for the enrolled candidates will commence from Sunday, 25th Kartik 2081.
