Film Development Board Notice for Film Scholarship Applications (Promote Study, Research, and Scholarship)
Government of Nepal, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Film Development Board, Chabahil, Kathmandu Notice for Film Scholarship Applications
To promote study, research, and scholarship in film studies, the Film Development Board invites applications from eligible Nepali students, researchers, and scholars currently studying in relevant fields. Applicants are required to submit all specified documents as outlined below.

PhD Research Scholarships

For 3 candidates pursuing PhD in film studies.

MPhil Research Scholarships

For 2 candidates pursuing MPhil in film studies.

Postgraduate Scholarships

(a) For 2 candidates conducting research in film studies.

(b) For 2 candidates studying elective film-related courses and writing research papers.

Undergraduate Scholarships
-
For a total of 13 candidates majoring in film studies at the undergraduate level:

Open Category: 7 candidates

Reserved Category: 6 candidates (breakdown as follows):

(a) Madhesi, Dalit, Disabled, and Indigenous - 4 candidates

(b) Women - 2 candidates

Secondary Level Scholarships
-
For up to 5 candidates studying film-related subjects at the secondary level (10+2 or equivalent), selected based on inclusivity principles.

Application Deadline and Submission Instructions
All applicants must submit their applications within 30 days of the first publication date of this notice. The final application deadline is Mangsir 15, 2081 BS (November 30, 2024 AD).
Applications can be submitted to the board's office or via email at nepalfilmscholarship@gmail.com. If the final date falls on a public holiday, submissions will be accepted on the first working day after the holiday. Email submissions will be accepted until Mangsir 16, 2081 BS.
Email Submission Guidelines
a. Email Subject Format: Application Level First Name Year Institution Name (e.g., BachelorsLevelBuddhi_2081OSCAR, Masters_Ritu_2081_NFC, etc.)
b. Document Format: The required documents should be scanned in PDF or JPG format with a resolution of at least 200 dpi.
c. Attachment Requirement: All necessary documents for a single application must be attached in one email. Applicants should
contact the board within the deadline if additional documents are needed.
d. Submission of Originals: During interviews or at a convenient time, online applicants must present original application forms, all submitted documents, and a postage stamp worth Rs. 10.

Certification from relevant bodies for female, Madhesi, disabled, Dalit, Indigenous, and martyr family applicants

Copy of approved research proposal for Master’s, MPhil, or PhD applicants

Certified document of local body recommendation for the scholarship

Proof of prior experience in film-related work and additional recommendation documents if applicable
