Kathmandu University Announces Scholarships for Nepal Children's Organization Students

In a significant move towards enhancing educational opportunities in Nepal, Kathmandu University has recently announced a new scholarship program in partnership with the Nepal Children's Organization. This initiative formalized at the university's central campus in Dhulikhel, represents a commitment spanning ten years, with options for renewal, aimed at supporting the education of children under the care of the Nepal Children's Organization. The agreement was signed by Manish Pokharel, Dean of the School of Engineering at Kathmandu University, and Vidya Upadhyay Neupane, President of the Nepal Children's Organization, marking a crucial collaboration in the field of education.

This scholarship program is designed to provide full scholarships annually to two students who have completed class 12 in the children's homes operated by the Nepal Children's Organization. This initiative marks a crucial step towards providing equal educational opportunities to underprivileged students in Nepal. Beyond financial aid, the partnership also includes significant contributions to infrastructure development. Kathmandu University has agreed to lease land from the Children's Organization in Panchkhal, Kavre, which will be used for advancing engineering studies and teaching. Additionally, this collaboration entails renovating existing structures and constructing new facilities to enhance the educational environment for these students.

Through this initiative, Kathmandu University demonstrates a strong commitment to social responsibility and educational excellence.
