Lumbini General Insurance has awarded ten scholarships worth a total of 120,000 Nepalese rupees to students studying at Vishwa Shanti Buddhist School in Minbhavan, Kathmandu. Each student will receive 12,000 Nepalese rupees per year. The scholarships are being granted in memory of the late Himalaya Shamsher Rana, the company's founder, and chairman, who passed away on February 5, 2023.
The scholarship ceremony was held on the twelfth day after Rana's death, during which his biography was discussed for an hour and Buddhist religious leaders and monks prayed for his eternal peace. The event was attended by the company's chairman, Manohar Das Mull, director Vishwaraj Regmi, former director Shankar Ghimire, CEO NP Pradhan, and other high-ranking officials.
