Chhatrakot Rural Municipality Publishes Local Subjects Syllabus

Chhatrakot Rural Municipality in Gulmi has unveiled a new syllabus for local subjects, aimed at classes 1 to 8. This curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including historical places, festivals, customs, behaviors, professions, and development from history to the present day. It also explores the possibilities and challenges within the municipality.

Curriculum Announcement

Village chairman Ram Prasad Pandey announced the new curriculum, named "Our Chhatrakot." He stated that this initiative aligns with the responsibilities provided by the Constitution of Nepal. Chairman Pandey emphasized the successful implementation of the local curriculum, citing the skills, diligence, and responsibility of the teachers as key factors in achieving the curriculum's goals.

Honoring Outstanding Students

During the announcement, students who achieved the highest GPA at the basic and secondary levels in the last academic session of 2080 were honored. A total of 99 students who scored more than a 3.2 GPA in the basic level examination (class 8), secondary education examination (class 10), and secondary education examination (class 12) received recognition for their academic excellence.

Two Years of Hard Work

Tikaram Acharya, Head of the Education Branch of Chhatrakot Rural Municipality, highlighted that the "Our Chhatrakot" curriculum is the result of two years of continuous hard work. The syllabus is set to be implemented in all community and institutional schools within the rural municipality in the current academic session of 2081.

Educational Landscape in Chhatrakot

The rural municipality is home to 28 community schools, 1 institutional school, and 14 child development centers, educating approximately 5200 students. This new curriculum aims to enhance the educational experience by incorporating local knowledge and history, fostering a deeper connection between students and their community.
