Jaimini Municipality Closes 10 Schools Due to Low Enrollment
Jaimini Municipality has shut down ten schools due to declining students. Five have already been closed, while the remaining five will be merged in the upcoming academic session. Teacher positions from the closed schools have been reallocated to other institutions.
Deputy Mayor Harihar Sharma said the municipality closed schools and reassigned teachers following the School Adjustment and Teacher Position Allocation Implementation Guidelines 2080. The aim is to address the disparity between teacher availability and student numbers, ensuring efficient resource utilization.
Immediate Closures
Five primary schools with fewer than four students have been closed immediately, and 11 teacher positions have been reallocated to other schools. Among the closed schools are:

Sarvodaya Primary School and Tara Jyoti Primary School had zero students, while the other three had fewer than four.

The municipality plans to merge five additional schools in the next academic year, maintaining only one teacher position. These schools include:

Residential Lead Schools to Enhance Quality
To address the challenges students face from remote areas, the municipality has introduced the concept of residential-led schools. According to Deputy Mayor Sharma, this approach aims to improve the quality of education and maximize investment.
A lead school has been established at Sarvodaya Janak Secondary School, Jaimini-5, Binamare, which will serve as an educational hub for the municipality. The lead school will provide residential facilities and align education with income-generating activities to support students and parents.

Due to increasing migration and a subsequent decline in student numbers, Jaimini Municipality has implemented innovative approaches over the past two years. These include:
