Kishani Sanjeevani Fund Raises Over NPR 6.3 Million

The Kishani Krishi Prabidhik Shikshalaya in Malika Rural Municipality-7, Bim, Myagdi, has raised over NPR 6.3 million for the newly established Kishani Sanjeevani Endowment Fund.

Fundraising Achievements

Within a month of the fund’s launch, NPR 33.92 lakh was collected in Nepal, and an additional NPR 29.5 lakh came from supporters abroad. The fund’s Foreign Department Chief, Krishna Jugjali, shared that contributions are pouring in daily.

On Tuesday, Ek Bahadur Ale Magar, a restaurant owner from Tanahun, donated 150 pounds (approximately NPR 25,700) after learning about the fund. Some local families have contributed up to NPR 5 lakh each.

Overseas Support

The campaign gained momentum among the diaspora, leading to significant contributions quickly. Principal Jung Bahadur Garbuja remarked, “This showcases the unity of the Bim community abroad, who generously support the endowment fund for the technical education institution in their village.”

Community Efforts

Locally, Deusi-Bhailo programs raised approximately NPR 33 lakh for the fund. The school aims to establish an NPR 2-crore endowment fund to assist underprivileged and talented students pursuing agriculture and veterinary studies. The institution has also appealed for support from individuals and communities according to their capacity.

Advancing Agricultural Education

The Kishani Krishi Prabidhik Shikshalaya, affiliated with CTEVT since 2068 BS, offers technical education in:

  1. 29-month JTA courses (2068 BS)

  2. Three-year diplomas in Agriculture (Crop Science) and Veterinary Science (2072 BS)

Students from 21 districts are enrolled, reflecting the institution's growing reputation and impact.

Practical Learning with Real-World Application

The institution emphasizes practical learning by integrating education with production and income generation:

  • Students conduct fieldwork on farms, practicing fruit, vegetable, and pulse production skills.

  • Produced goods are sold in local markets, helping students earn and manage their expenses.

National Recognition

Establishing the Kishani Krishi Prabidhik Shikshalaya has brought Bim village into the national spotlight. Despite operational challenges faced by similar institutions across Nepal, this school continues to attract students nationwide and provide employment recommendations.

Conclusion

By connecting education with production and economic empowerment, the Kishani Krishi Prabidhik Shikshalaya has become a model institution for agricultural and veterinary education in Nepal. The Kishani Sanjeevani Endowment Fund is a testament to community effort and unity, paving the way for future progress in technical education.
