Rampur Municipality Palpa Honours Top SEE Student

Rampur Municipality in Palpa has honored a student who achieved outstanding marks in the Secondary Education Examination (SEE). According to the recently published results, Purnima Laxmi Kunwar from Daraithati Secondary School, Rampur-6, who scored a 4 GPA, was honored by the municipality.

Kunwar, who achieved the highest marks in the district, was honored during the second meeting of the 15th session of the municipal assembly. The ceremony included the presentation of a cash prize of NPR 10,000, a certificate of appreciation, and a traditional shawl. The awards were presented by Raman Bahadur Thapa, the Mayor of Rampur Municipality, Deputy Mayor Balakumari Thapa, and Chief Administrative Officer Suryadarshan Pandit.

Mayor Raman Bahadur Thapa congratulated the student, noting that community schools are also capable of producing excellent results. He stated that the achievement sends a message that students from community schools can score top marks. Additionally, the municipality honored Daraithati Secondary School for their excellent results. The principal of the school, Sundar Prasad Devkota, was presented with a Dhaka topi and a certificate of appreciation.

During the assembly, the municipality also honored Shiva Devi Thapa, a contract employee who recently took voluntary retirement. Thapa was presented with a traditional shawl, a certificate of appreciation, and NPR 294,000 from the Employee Welfare Fund established by the municipality. This is the first time the municipality has awarded money from the Employee Welfare Fund.

The second meeting of the 15th session of the municipal assembly unanimously approved an amended budget of NPR 741,104,000. Deputy Mayor Balakumari Thapa presented the amended financial appropriation bill, and the Bill Committee Coordinator, Min Bahadur Sinjali, presented the municipal assembly's operating procedure bill, both of which were passed unanimously. Mayor Raman Bahadur Thapa announced that four acts were passed during the 15th session of the municipal assembly.
