Recruitment of 800 Nepali Workers for Long-term Care Centers in Israel

The Department of Foreign Employment has announced the recruitment of 800 Nepali workers for long-term care centers in Israel. This is part of the second phase of the recruitment process, with an additional 300 alternates being included. The recruitment is conducted through government mechanisms under a labor agreement between Nepal and Israel, with no involvement of private sectors.

Application Details

• Application Period: Interested candidates must apply within 21 days starting from Asar 11.
• Selection Process: Qualified candidates will be selected through a lottery system. A total of 800 individuals will be chosen, with an additional 300 placed as alternates.

Eligibility Criteria

• Age: 25 to 45 years old.
• Height: Minimum of 1.5 meters.
• Weight: Minimum of 45 kilograms.
• Education:
  • Must have passed grade 10 and completed at least 15 months of study in ANM or CMA-related subjects, or
  • Must have passed grade 12.
• Additional Requirements:
  • Must not have previously worked in Israel.
  • Must not have parents, spouses, or children residing or working in Israel.
  • Must be physically and mentally healthy.

Job Details

• Monthly Salary: 5,880 Israeli currency (equivalent to 210,000 Nepali rupees).
• Contract Period: Initially one year, extendable up to a maximum of five years.
• Gender Requirement: In the first phase, 75% were women and 25% were men. The second phase requires 60% women and 40% men.

Background Information

Since 2022, more than 1,000 caregivers have been employed in Israel. Before 2009, workers were sent through manpower companies. However, due to high service fees charged by these companies, Israel stopped hiring workers from Nepal. Four years ago, a labor agreement was signed to recruit caregivers through the G2G process. On 14th Ashoj 2077, a labor agreement was signed between Nepal and Israel for the employment of Nepali workers in Israel’s labor market. To implement that agreement, an implementation protocol was signed between the two countries in Magh 2077.
