Baglung Municipality Stakeholders Campaign to Educate Students in Government Schools

A campaign has been launched in Baglung Municipality-9 Tityang, where stakeholders have pledged to educate their children in public schools. The participants of the campaign have announced that they will teach their children in public schools from the next academic session.

The decision was made after a ward meeting where stakeholders agreed that teachers' children should be educated in public schools in order to save public schools and improve their quality. The first phase of the campaign will focus on educating the children of teachers and people's representatives in public schools and gradually bringing the children of public officials to public schools.

The stakeholders believe that if they start with themselves and their children, everyone's children can be educated in public schools. Ward president Raju Thapa emphasized that teachers should increase the number of students in public schools and provide quality education. He has also pledged to work as a ward president if there are any physical infrastructure construction, maintenance and other work that needs to be done.

The Ward Education Committee made the decision to launch the campaign two weeks ago, and parents and stakeholders have gathered to support it. There are currently 10 community schools in Tityang. Deputy Chief Raju Khadka said that if the teachers want to improve the quality of education, the municipality will support them in training and technology transfer.

The Chief Administrative Officer Purushottam Sapkota welcomed the decision of the Ward Education Committee and expressed the view that the municipality is now morally bound to support the campaign. He pledged to support the campaign to save community schools by creating an environment, even though the decision of the city is needed to give legitimacy.

The participants of the ward meeting included social development committee coordinator Gyanendra Gautam, city education committee member Gopal Kumar Sharma, community school association president of Gandaki province Tikaram Khadka, school management committee chairpersons, principals and officials of the teachers' parents' association.

The stakeholders believe that if the campaign started by teachers can be extended to government employees and people holding public positions, it will save schools that are about to be closed. This campaign will undoubtedly bring positive changes to the education system in Baglung Municipality-9 Tityang.
