The Curriculum Development Center (CDC) has issued a notice regarding the preparation of grade sheets for classes 5, 8, and 9 for the academic session 2079. The notice provides guidelines for the evaluation and grading of students based on the new National Curriculum of School Education, 2076.

Implementation of New Curriculum

  • The new curriculum will be implemented in different classes starting from the academic session 2077.
  • In the next academic session 2080, it will be used in classes 5, 8, and 10.
  • In the academic session 2079, the new curriculum for compulsory subjects will be implemented in class 9, but the curriculum for optional subjects is still under revision.

Guidelines for Evaluation and Grading

  • Teachers are requested to evaluate the students according to the National Curriculum Format of School Education 2076 and the Letter Grading Guide 2078 when preparing the grade sheet.
  • For compulsory subjects in class 9, the basis of internal and periodic (external) evaluation should be followed as mentioned in the supporting manual for the implementation of the letter grading system available on the CDC's website.
  • For optional subjects, the evaluation system should be adopted according to the previous syllabus being implemented.
  • The grade sheet for classes 5, 8, and 10 should be prepared according to the provisions of the old syllabus.

Details of Compulsory and Optional Subjects

  • The notice provides details of the compulsory and optional subjects, including the lesson hours to be evaluated for each subject.
  • The evaluation and documentation for 100% theoretical subjects should be done in 4 lesson hours.
  • In the case of 25% practical subjects, 1 lesson hour should be allocated for practical and 3 lesson hours for theory and evaluation.
  • For 50% practical subjects, 2 lesson hours should be allocated for practical and 2 lesson hours for theory.

Following these guidelines will ensure that the evaluation and grading of students is accurate and fair, and will help maintain the quality of education.
