During a press conference, Tribhuvan University (TU) announced that it has completed all preparations for the 50th Convocation Ceremony on December 13, 2024 (Poush 13, 2081).
According to Pushpa Raj Joshi, the Controller of Examinations at Tribhuvan University, 14,308 students will attend the 50th Convocation Ceremony, which will take place on TU's premises. Of the 74,149 graduating students, 14,308 will attend the ceremony in person.
This year, 9,068 students will graduate with a bachelor's degree, 5,055 with a master's degree, 63 with an MPhil, and 122 with a Ph.D. degree. "Last year, we entered the Guinness Book of World Records for the highest number of graduates in a single ceremony," Joshi said. "This year, we will surpass last year's figure by more than 2,000 graduates."
Controller Joshi also stated that preparations are underway to host the convocation ceremony on the TU premises starting next year. This year’s ceremony will include graduates who passed between Ashar 2080 and Ashar 2081 and those listed in the 62nd Grace List, totaling 74,149 students. Additionally, awards will be distributed in 17 different categories.
The chief guest of the convocation ceremony will be Senior Agricultural Scientist Dr. Ram Prasad Yadav. The event will also feature TU Chancellor, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, TU Vice-Chancellor and Minister of Education, Science, and Technology Vidya Bhattarai, and participating students and their guardians.
