Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS), Jumla Notice Regarding Recruitment Through Open and Internal Competitive Examinations
As per the agreement received from the Public Service Commission, applications are invited from interested Nepali citizens for the permanent recruitment to various vacant academic, technical, and administrative positions in different services and groups at the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS) through internal competition and open and inclusive competitive examinations. The Public Service Commission will conduct the written examination.
Special Notice Regarding Advertisement:
As per the order of the Honorable Supreme Court in writ number 078-WO-0660, positions have been determined for the inclusive group under the upcoming Federal Civil Service Act. Following this, the advertisement notice for Karnali Academy of Health Sciences has been published based on the Employee Service Conditions and Facilities Regulations, 2069.
Type of Examination: Written, computer skill test, and interview.
Medium of Written Examination: As specified in the curriculum.

The Original voucher and the filled application form were submitted to the central office of the academy in Jumla or the contact office at Dantakali Marg, Setopul, Maitidevi.

Recent passport-size photograph with both ears visible, copy of Nepali citizenship certificate, copies of transcripts and character certificates of the advertised position/level, equivalence certificate from Tribhuvan University if studied at a foreign institution, copy of council registration certificate if required for the position, certified recommendation letter from the relevant department head proving 4 years of permanent service for officer level and 3 years for assistant level.

As per Rule 18 of the Employee Service Conditions and Facilities Regulations, 2069, disqualified individuals cannot apply. Incomplete or unqualified applications can be canceled at any time.

Required Minimum Educational Qualifications:
Associate Professor:
Path 1:
(a) Five years of work experience after becoming a lecturer and at least two years of experience as an Assistant Professor.
(b) Published at least four articles in recognized journals, with at least three as the main author while serving as an Assistant Professor.
(c) High evaluation in teaching skills and leadership capabilities while serving as an Assistant Professor.
(d) Renowned as a proficient doctor, senior scientist, excellent teacher, or capable researcher contributing to the organization's objectives.
Path 2:
(a) Completed a postgraduate degree and obtained a degree like MCh/DM in the main subject from a recognized educational institution.
(b) At least two years of experience as an Assistant Professor.
(c) Published at least two articles in recognized journals, with at least one as the main author while serving as an Assistant Professor.
(d) High evaluation in teaching skills and leadership capabilities while serving as an Assistant Professor.
(e) Renowned as a proficient doctor, senior scientist, excellent teacher, or capable researcher contributing to the organization's objectives.
Path 3:
(a) Worked in the same position at a recognized educational institution.
Path 4:
(a) Obtained a Ph.D. in basic sciences from a recognized university.
(b) At least four years of experience as a research associate or equivalent after obtaining a Ph.D.
(c) Published at least six articles in recognized journals, with at least four as the main author.
(d) Renowned as a proficient doctor, senior scientist, excellent teacher, or capable researcher contributing to the organization's objectives.
Path 5:
(a) Completed a postgraduate degree from a recognized educational institution.
(b) At least six years of experience as a senior registrar or equivalent after obtaining a postgraduate degree from a recognized institution.
(c) Published at least six articles in recognized journals, with at least four as the main author.
(d) Ability to play a leadership role as an Associate Professor.
(e) Renowned as a proficient doctor, senior scientist, excellent teacher, or capable researcher contributing to the organization's objectives.
Assistant Professor:
Path 1:
(a) Obtained a postgraduate degree from a recognized educational institution in the relevant subject.
(b) At least two years of experience in the relevant field.
(c) Published at least one article in a recognized journal, with at least one as the main author.
Path 2:
(a) Worked in the same position at a recognized educational institution.
Path 3:
(a) Obtained a Ph.D. in basic sciences from a recognized university.
(b) Published at least two articles as the main author in recognized journals.
Path 4:
(a) Completed a postgraduate degree and obtained a degree like MCh/DM in the main subject from a recognized educational institution.
(b) Published at least two articles in recognized journals, with at least one as the main author.
Lecturer: Obtained a postgraduate degree from a recognized educational institution in the relevant subject.
Chief of Accounts: Obtained a postgraduate degree in the relevant subject and at least five years of work experience in an officer-level position.
Medical Officer: At least MBBS or equivalent degree in medical science and registered with the Nepal Medical Council.
Medical Lab Technologist: Obtained a bachelor's degree in the relevant subject.
Pharmacist: Obtained a bachelor's degree in the relevant subject.
Nursing Officer: Obtained a bachelor's degree in the relevant subject.
IT Officer: Obtained a postgraduate degree in the relevant subject and two years of work experience.
Assistant Accountant: Obtained a bachelor's degree in the relevant subject.
Radiographer (Level 6): Obtained a bachelor's degree in the relevant subject.
Radiographer (Level 5): Obtained a proficiency certificate level or equivalent in the relevant subject.
Pharmacy Technician: Obtained a proficiency certificate level or equivalent in the relevant subject.
Health Assistant: Obtained a proficiency certificate level or equivalent in the relevant subject.
Staff Nurse: Obtained a proficiency certificate level or equivalent in the relevant subject.
IT Assistant: Obtained a proficiency certificate level or equivalent in the relevant subject.
Administrative Assistant: Obtained a proficiency certificate level or equivalent in the relevant subject.
For Candidates Applying for Internal Competitive Examinations:
Candidates must fulfill the minimum qualifications and service duration as per Rule 49 of the Employee Service Conditions and Facilities Regulations, 2069 of the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences.
Additional Documents Required for Inclusive Group Applicants:
(A) For Indigenous/Janajati Candidates:
For castes listed under the National Foundation for Development of Indigenous Nationalities Act, a certificate confirming the caste is based on the list. Suppose there are multiple surnames within the listed caste. In that case, a document certified by the Chief District Officer based on the recommendation of the head of the relevant local level confirming the specific surname within the listed caste is required.
(B) For Madhesi Candidates:
A document certified by an institution specified by the Government of Nepal and published in the Nepal Gazette. If the institution is not specified in the Nepal Gazette, a document certified by the Chief District Officer based on the recommendation of the head of the relevant local level confirms the candidate as Madhesi is required.
(C) For Dalit Candidates:
For castes listed under the National Dalit Commission, a certificate confirming the caste is based on the list. Suppose there are multiple surnames within the listed caste. In that case, a document certified by the Chief District Officer based on the recommendation of the head of the relevant local level confirming the specific surname within the listed caste is required.
