Midwifery Society of Nepal (MIDSON) is the leading independent national professional association of midwives and/or nurses with midwifery skills in Nepal. We work to develop, promote, and safeguard midwives by protecting their professional rights for recognition as an autonomous profession nationally and internationally.
Position title: Program Coordinator-1
Job Location: Based in Kathmandu, with the possibility of traveling to the organization’s working area.
The Program Coordinator will be responsible for the overall management and reporting in strengthening comprehensive midwifery programs for SRMNAH activities in Nepal. The holder must proactively coordinate and build rapport with government officials, donor agencies, stakeholders, local communities, and provincial/municipalities/rural municipalities-level stakeholders. She will be responsible for implementing the program activities with due attention to quality within the timeframe.
1. Key Responsibilities:

Ensure timely planning, implementation, regular monitoring, evaluation, and documentation/reporting of MIDSON’s activities within the time frame with quality assurance.

Manage day-to-day operations, support administrative activities, and oversee the management of each component of the work plan, ensuring coordination among MIDSON’s team members to assure all components are in tandem.

Liaise with project-related line government ministries/departments/divisions for successful implementation of MIDSON’s activities. Ensure functional coordination and collaboration with other stakeholders to create an enabling environment.

Plan, conduct, follow-up, and monitor project work plan activities related to advocacy, continuous professional development, training programs, and onsite review and coaching in the program area.

Support MIDSON’s secretary, finance and program manager, and working committees’ coordinators for the appropriate documentation of the program activities.
2. Qualification and Experience:

Master in Public Health (MPH)/Midwifery with a Bachelor of Midwifery or Nursing with an elective in midwifery.

Preferred at least 3 years of experience in leading, managing, and coordinating Safe Motherhood projects and programs. Research background in SRMNAH will be valued.
3. Skills and Abilities:

Strong skills in project planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting, coordination, and organization.

Strong skills in computer-based reporting, communication, and resource management.

Sound knowledge of Nepal’s midwifery development, national safe motherhood policies/strategies, and national health governance system, with facilitation on technical subject matters.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Effective stakeholder engagement and networking skills.

Proficiency in English and Nepali is mandatory; knowledge of additional languages is an asset.
