Great Araniko Secondary School's Innovative Model Parliament Session

Tulsipur (Dang), 15th December, In a groundbreaking educational endeavor, Great Araniko Secondary School in Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City-6 has taken a significant step towards enhancing practical learning for its law students. The school recently organized a model parliament session, allowing students to engage directly in a simulated parliamentary environment. This innovative program, supported technically by the "New Youth, New Thought" organization, aimed to provide students with a hands-on experience of the legislative process, transcending traditional textbook learning.

During this session, students had the opportunity to step into the roles of various parliamentary members, including the ruling party, opposition, speaker, deputy speaker, and prime minister. The exercise was not just a mere role-play; it was a platform for vigorous debate and discussion, mirroring the real-life complexities of parliamentary proceedings. Elisa Budha, a student participant, highlighted this by raising critical questions about the 'Education Bill' submitted in the Parliament, reflecting the depth of engagement and understanding among the students.

The principal of the school, Bishnu Kumar Devkota, underscored the importance of such initiatives, stating that law students must be well-versed not only in theoretical knowledge but also in the practical workings of the law. Furthermore, the program aimed to enhance the research and public speaking skills of the students, essential competencies for any aspiring lawyer.

Tikaram Khadka, the head of the Tulsipur sub-metropolitan city, also emphasized the significance of this exercise. He remarked on the necessity for law students to develop analytical skills and a nuanced understanding of language, stating that such practical exercises should be a regular part of their education. The success of this program indicates a promising future for these students, who are gaining proficiency and confidence through such innovative learning experiences.
