Government of Nepal, Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Notification of Chairman and Member Appointment Recommendation Committee of Electricity Regulatory Commission
In accordance with Section 5 of the Electricity Regulatory Commission Act, 2074, interested candidates who have met the minimum qualifications and experience as specified in the same section for the appointment of the vacant chairman (one) and three members (including one woman) of the Electricity Regulatory Commission shall apply under subsection 7 of the said Act. According to 1) within 15 (fifteen) days from the date of publication of this notice (within office hours on 9th Jestha 2081) to the Administration Division of this Ministry, according to the decision of the Committee dated 01/25/2081, it is recommended to submit an application to the Administration Division of this Ministry. A public notice has been published.

Required Qualification: Having attained the qualification as per section 5 (1) (a) of the Electricity Regulation Commission Act, 2074 and not having any disqualification as per section 6.

Required Qualification: Having attained the qualification as per section 5 (1) (a) of the Electricity Regulation Commission Act, 2074 and not having any disqualification as per section 6.
1) The application according to schedule-1 of Electricity Regulation Commission Regulations, 2075 (application along with personal details, copies of educational qualification certificates, and documents confirming work experience), must be submitted in a separate envelope.
2) Self-declaration as per Schedule-2 of Electricity Regulation Commission Regulations, 2075 will have to be done.
3) 3 copies of the strategy and action plan should be sealed in a separate envelope and submitted. The format of the strategy and action plan and more information about it can be obtained from the secretariat of the recommendation committee.
4) Among the candidates who have submitted the application, the application of the candidates who have completed the required minimum educational qualification and work experience will be accepted. Candidates who have received at least 50 percent marks in the strategy and action plan will be allowed to participate in the presentation of the action plan and the interview, and the candidates will be informed after the presentation of the action plan and the interview program. The selection of the chairman and members will be done on an inclusive basis, including at least one woman.
5) In the case of chairman and members, candidates including at least one woman will be selected and recommended based on the order of merit in different subject categories of educational qualification.
6) When applying, the specific field (only 1) must be disclosed in the application (according to schedule 1) that you want to apply for.
7) The basic criteria and process for candidate selection will be as determined by the recommendation committee.
8) The term of office of the chairman and members will be 5 (five) years according to section 8 of the Electricity Regulation Commission Act 2074.
9) Other provisions regarding the selection and recommendation of the chairman and members of the Electricity Regulatory Commission shall be in accordance with the Electricity Regulatory Commission Act, 2074 and Regulations, 2075 and other prevailing legal provisions.
