Notice for Application: Recommendation for the Chairperson of the Public Service Broadcasting Institution's Board of Directors

The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology has issued this notice to call for applications to recommend candidates for the Public Service Broadcasting Institution's Board of Directors Chairperson. This is by Clause 8, Sub-clause (8) of the Public Service Broadcasting Act, 2051.

Interested and eligible Nepali citizens meeting the qualifications outlined in the Public Service Broadcasting Act, 2081, and the Recommendation Procedure for the Appointment of the Chairperson of the Public Service Broadcasting Institution's Board of Directors, 2081, are invited to apply.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the qualifications prescribed under Clause 9 of the Public Service Broadcasting Act, 2081, and must not be disqualified as per Clause 10 of the same Act.

Required Documents for Application

Applicants must submit the following documents along with their application:

  1. Application Form: As per Schedule-1 of the Recommendation Procedure, 2081, clearly indicating interest in the Chairperson position.

  2. Proof of Nepali Citizenship: Copy of citizenship certificate.

  3. Personal Details: Document showcasing qualifications, experience, and contact information.

  4. Academic and Experience Certificates:

    • At least a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in Journalism, Humanities, Management, Market Management, Information Technology, or Broadcast Engineering.

    • A minimum of 15 years of experience in the relevant field.

  5. Age Proof: Document indicating the applicant is at least 35 years old as of the final application date.

  6. Educational Certificates: Copies of academic qualifications, including equivalency certificates for foreign degrees, if applicable.

  7. Photographs: Two recent passport-sized photographs.

  8. Additional Documents: Any other relevant documents related to the position.

  9. Self-Declaration: As per Schedule-2 of the Recommendation Procedure, 2081.

  10. Professional Plan Document:

    • A detailed proposal (3,000–5,000 words) addressing the institution's concept paper, operational and financial plans, challenges, opportunities, and strategic future plans.

    • The document must be typed on A4-sized paper in Nepali or English, with the applicant's name on the first page, signed on the back of all other pages, and free of any personal identifiers (e.g., name, signature) on the front pages.

    • The proposal must be sealed in an envelope and submitted separately, along with its presentation in another sealed envelope.

Application Deadline and Submission

  • Final Date: Within seven days from this notice's publication date (2081/08/07).

    • Applications can be submitted on the next working day if the final day falls on a public holiday.

  • Submission Location: Administration and Planning Division, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Singha Durbar, Kathmandu.
