Hydro Engineering and Management Service Pvt. Ltd. (HEMS) is an engineering consultancy working in the Civil and Water Resource sector, with a focus on the Hydropower field. The company is driven by experienced and dynamic professional engineers.

HEMS is currently seeking applications from dynamic and self-motivated candidates for the following position:

Position: Resident Engineer (Hydropower)

Qualification/Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of hydropower experience, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with at least 8 years of experience in the hydropower sector, including site-based completion of at least one hydropower project with tunnel construction.
  • Experience as a Team Leader / Resident Engineer under FIDIC / PPMO.

Remarks:

  • Site and Project-Based.
  • The Resident Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all engineering activities are executed according to design specifications, project timelines, and safety standards.

Key Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Engineer’s representative, ensuring the project is executed according to the design specifications, contracts, safety regulations, quality standards, and regulatory standards.
  • Guide the project team, including Site Engineers and Contractors, to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Ensure the safety of all personnel, structures, and equipment within the project area, following safety regulations and protocols.
  • Oversee contract performance to ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Report project progress and identify potential issues.
  • Resolve technical challenges during construction to maintain project continuity.
  • Review, verify, and issue construction drawings and other site instructions as required.
  • Coordinate with the design team/head office regarding the timing and delivery of design documents, considering the actual progress on site.
  • Update/review the project schedule and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Review contractor’s payment applications, verify work completion against milestones, and recommend for final approval.
  • Maintain records of day-to-day activities, internal meetings, and construction coordination meetings with the Contractors’ representatives and the Employer’s representatives.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Proficiency in software such as Word, Excel, MS Project, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS. Knowledge of additional hydraulic modelling and structural analysis software is an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures on construction sites, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
