These roles are part of a 5-year BHA/Nepal ER4 Activity aimed at reducing disaster risk and enhancing the disaster management capacity of the Government of Nepal, along with highly vulnerable communities, to mitigate, withstand, respond to, and recover from disasters.

The positions listed below are subject to donor approval and funding.

Position Details

1. Position: Chief of Party

Brief Description:

This senior leadership role provides strategic direction in project design, management, implementation, and quality assurance. The Chief of Party (COP) will be the primary liaison with USAID and relevant stakeholders. Responsibilities include technical assistance on evidence-based planning, governance, and health systems strengthening (HSS) in Nepal.

Eligibility:

Master’s degree in international development, international relations, disaster management, or a similar field. Requires a minimum of 10 years (7 years for GSI group) of professional experience in management within humanitarian and development projects, with at least five years in field-based roles.

2. Position: Emergency Preparedness and Response Manager (EPRM)

Brief Description:

The EPRM will lead and strategize to enhance disaster preparedness and resilience in Nepal, working in collaboration with both USG and non-USG partners. This position provides leadership in technical multi-sectoral analysis and disaster response design.

Eligibility:

Master’s degree in a field relevant to disaster risk management, humanitarian assistance, resilience, or natural sciences. Requires a minimum of 7 years (5 years for GSI group) of experience in the humanitarian sector focused on multi-sectoral response.

3. Position: Monitoring & Evaluation Lead

Brief Description:

The M&E Lead is responsible for developing and implementing a monitoring and evaluation (M&E) system and plan, including a database for data storage and aggregation. The role provides technical expertise in monitoring, assessment, and evaluation to ensure high-quality data generation and analysis.

Eligibility:

Master’s degree in statistics or economics, or a related field with substantial coursework in quantitative methods. Requires a minimum of 7 years (5 years for GSI group) of experience in designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation systems in humanitarian or similar contexts of comparable size and complexity.

GSI group: Women, Dalit, Madhesi, People with Disabilities, and other indigenous/minorities.
