World Vision International Nepal (WVIN), an international Christian relief, development, and advocacy organization dedicated to working with children, families, and communities to overcome poverty and injustice, is looking for potential Nepalese candidates to fill out the following positions:

WVI Nepal Innovation Lab (NLab) was established in late 2015 as part of World Vision's Nepal Earthquake Response, responding to the need for space in which diverse stakeholders could come together to explore and test new thinking in humanitarian response work. The NLab has since built a growing ecosystem of both local and international collaborators and initiated its first set of prototyping projects which are beginning to show promising results.

Position: Programme Coordinator (Two) - based in Lalitpur

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Programme Coordinator will work on the development of the applications developed for Sikka. He/She will be coding, technically troubleshoot the platform, liaise with remote teams deploying the applications, design new add-ons and prepare the technical documents and user manuals for the applications. Nepal Innovation Lab's dynamic working hours could ask for commitment beyond the 9-5 working hours.

Minimum Qualification and Experience required:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Science, IT, Engineering or in relevant discipline from recognised university with at least 3 years experience (preferred Masters) in related field; Should have willingness to learn about new and evolving technology; Must have proven track record of managing activities, resources, equipment and information to ensure excellence in operations in complex project environments; Strong creative capacity across communications and ability to challenge the status quo through creative and design processes is needed; Should have ability to work with interdisciplinary teams to craft IT solutions; Must have the ability to communicate complex information to a non-technological audience; Demonstrated proficiency in compiled programming languages; Should have experience in troubleshooting technology problems and in Solidity coding; Demonstrated experience in web and mobile application development.

2. Position: Programme Specialist (One)- based in Lalitpur

- The role will lead the digital assets transfer platform (Sikka) designed for financially marginalized communities in Nepal as it continues to grow and implement its vision across 2018-2020.

Minimum Qualification and Experience required:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Social Science/ Humanities and Management or in relevant discipline with at least 3 years' experience (preferred Masters) in the related field; Should have the willingness to learn about new and evolving technology; Must have proven experience of managing dynamic teams; Strong planning, organizing and facilitation skills are essential; Should have experience of working with an international agency in learning, capacity building related functions is an advantage; Must have ability to facilitate connection and collaboration amongst groups of diverse professional and cultural backgrounds; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English, additional languages (other than Nepali and Hindi) are an advantage; Should have experience of working in Cash Transfer Programs is an advantage; Experience of working in an Emergency Response is an advantage. Core Competencies required for both positions: Excellent oral and written English & Nepali; Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications including use of Microsoft Office; Ready to take initiatives and willing to work under pressure and exhibit a high level of flexibility; Hold a high level of integrity and honesty, self-motivated, confident, and able to work independently; Strategic, creative, and innovative thinking with decision making and problem solving skills; Good understanding of humanitarian Sector.
