Coronavirus: 1.6 million people have been screened in America so far, Trump said - social distance is very important

The total number of infected patients in the US has exceeded three lakh 36 thousand and more than 9600 people have died. At the same time, about 18 thousand people have been cured of this disease. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump said that 1.6 million investigations have been done so far for the coronavirus in the country. With the death toll in the US approaching 10,000 due to the deadly virus infection, he appealed to the countrymen to stay indoors to maintain social distance.

During a press conference at the White House on Sunday, Trump said that 16 million people have been screened in the US so far, the highest of any country. A major disaster has been declared for almost the entire country and more than 95 percent of America's 33 million population is following orders to stay indoors.

Describing US efforts against the Coronavirus as a military operation, Trump said millions of masks, gloves, protective equipment, and medical supplies have been delivered to the country from around the world. "It is really a strong military operation that we have started in the last few weeks," Trump said. There is a readiness to declare a major disaster in 50 states and regions which is very unusual.

Reiterating on the use of the malaria drug hydroxychloroquine to combat the coronavirus, Trump said the United States had procured about 29 million doses for distribution nationwide. On the other hand, with the increase in the number of dead, health officials have warned that the coming week could be a moment like Pearl Harbor. In view of this, US governors have appealed to the White House to formulate a national strategy against the rapidly spreading coronavirus.

Senior scientist Anthony Fauci, who is making policy to overcome the global pandemic crisis in the country, warned of the great danger and said that Americans should be prepared for a bad week. Fauci told CBS on Sunday that I would not say that we have overcome this.
